Spring 2026 sorority recruitment is open!

Posted on December 12, 2025 by The Quill

As the fall semester wraps up, Susquehanna’s sorority life starts to kick into primary recruitment season and invites those interested in joining a sorority to sign up!

Primary recruitment starts Jan. 21, 2026, and goes until Jan. 25, 2026. This five-day event allows women to travel from each sorority house: Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, and Sigma Kappa to meet each house’s sisters.

The event is overseen by the Panhellenic Council, also known as “Panhel,” which is a group of women from each sorority who ensure the Greek community is complying to rules and living in harmony together.

Panhel’s Vice President of Recruitment, Laney Castagna, shares how going Greek changed her entire experience at Susquehanna University: “Coming into college, I did not think I would ever join a sorority. I never thought I was the sorority ‘type’ or would fit in with the crowd.”

The beauty of joining a sorority, especially one at Susquehanna, is that there is no sorority “type.” Each chapter is made up of women who come from entirely different backgrounds, some are even from different countries. There are girls who play sports and others who participate in the arts.

Whatever your background is, there is a home just right for you, and Laney mentions that if “[…] anyone is thinking [they don’t fit the type of sorority girl], it is so far from the truth. In our panhellenic Greek community, every girl finds their family.”

There is never any pressure to “fit in with a certain crowd” because everyone is welcomed with open arms. Greek life is not just a group, it’s a home.

Not only will women be able to find their family, but they will also have a Greek family outside of whatever sorority they become a part of. The Panhellenic community offers countless sisterhood events like flower bouquets and permanent jewelry making. Sisters from each organization come together to create deeper bonds.

“I feel that it’s cliche to say that you find your future bridesmaids in Greek life, but it is so, so true,” stated Laney.

If anyone is interested in learning more about Greek life at Susquehanna University or would like to sign up for primary recruitment, follow Susquehanna’s Panhel Instagram account, @susqupanhel, and reach out to Laney, castagnad@susqu.edu, with any questions!
