Susquehanna Women’s Soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 4-0 victory over Delaware Valley on Saturday in Selinsgrove, picking up their first win in their 2025 campaign.

Prior to the game, the River Hawks showed their appreciation with a ceremony for seniors Sydney Williams, Caitlyn Sanchez, Rachel Rinehart, Lily Shutt, Kalie Quaglia, Emma Eberle and Morgan Stickley.

River Hawks Head Coach Nick Hoover shed some light on the impact of the senior class on the squad, stating, “The senior class has been great culture builders for us, besides all the things they have done on the field. What they have done for our team off the field, is just as if not more important”.

In the match, the scoring was opened under 20 minutes by first-year Audrey Miller, with her first career goal, assisted by senior Emma Eberle. Miller later doubled her tally, scoring in the 21st minute with an assist from Chloe Michaels.

In the second half, Miller contributed again, this time with an assist to sophomore Ava Billmeyer. Later on, the River Hawks capped their scoring with another goal, this time freshman by Brynn Bogle in the 76th minute. This was Bogle’s first collegiate goal and completed the shutout for the River Hawks.

Susquehanna attempted a mind-boggling 32 shots, compared to Delaware Valley’s singular shot. The defensive domination came down to the tactical changes made by Coach Hoover, utilizing a system that took advantage of Delaware Valley’s 3-4-2-1 formation. “They did a great job, we wanted to generate as many chances as we could off turnovers and off 50-50 balls so really just moved ourselves up the field”.

SU will look to build open their success, taking on Notre Dame (Md.) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sassafras Field.
