The Susquehanna University Department of Theatre is proud to present our next production, Smaller Floods, written by Evan Peterson, and directed by student director Bruce Gomez, as part of our 2021-22 Main Stage Season.

Performances will be on Thursday, April 7th through Saturday, April 9th at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee performance on April 10th at 2:30 p.m.

As the Dust Bowl ravages the American Great Plains, a family struggles for survival on their dying land. Abital digs in search of something prophesied to her in a dream; a great source of water that could save them. Her brother Gabriel looks to the sky for answers in the form of cloud patterns. Their mother, Lise, looks to her faith for a solution. When Suranne, a mysterious outlaw and cartographer arrives with news of the incoming dust storm, the family must decide what their heritage truly means to them. Charming and cautionary, Smaller Floods challenges us to determine just how much we owe to our heritage and to each other as we face our own ecological crises today.

The production will be in person and available to the public, our theater will be at 50% capacity and masks will be required. Tickets are free for Susquehanna students, $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and non-SU students.

All tickets for Department of Theatre productions can be purchased through the Box Office located in the Degenstein Campus Center Theater lobby. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets can be purchased in person or by calling 570-372-ARTS. The box office will also be open for one hour before every performance.
