What are you most looking forward to on campus this semester with your season being canceled?

“I am most looking forward to just being able to see my friends that don’t live by me and making the most of our time on campus during our senior year.”

What is your favorite sports memory playing at Susquehanna?

Winning the conference championship back in 2018. We won the game in penalty kicks and when Marley made the game winning penalty kick I had the greatest feeling. Winning a collegiate championship has always been a goal of mine and to win a conference title in my sophomore season was such a treat.”

Looking back on the past three seasons would you change anything about your time being a student-athlete at Susquehanna and why?

“Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing about my past three years as a student athlete. Being a student athlete has shaped me into the person I am today and feel that it has greatly prepared me for my career upon graduation.”

What were you feeling when you found out fall seasons were being suspended?

“When I found out fall seasons were being suspended, I was devastated. Everyone looks forward to their senior season and especially the senior game that celebrates all the time and effort that us players put into the program, and the suspension took that away. I was ready for my last chance to compete for another championship and was super upset when I found out I wouldn’t have the chance to.”

How has playing this sport affected you for your future?

“Playing this sport has given me many skills that will help me in moving into the future outside of SU. I have mastered my time management and communication skills, and feel that no matter what setting I may be in I will be able to be a helpful member of any team I find myself a part of.”

How have you settled into campus with all the new rules with practices?

“It’s definitely been a challenge being on campus and attending practices with all of the new [COVID-19] rules. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to practice that I know many other teams within the Landmark Conference aren’t able to have.”

Who was your role model on your team when you were a freshman at Susquehanna?

“Cassie Coombs was a role model on the team for me when I was a freshman. She was always a hard worker both on and off the field and friendly to everyone she encountered. I found myself wanting to follow her example.”

What made you choose to play a sport in college, and why Susquehanna?

“I wanted to play a sport in college because I have played soccer since I was a toddler, and I couldn’t imagine not having it in my life. I picked SU because of the strong business school and extremely welcoming campus. After my first visit, I knew that this was the place where I wanted to get my degree.”

How do you stay motivated to go to practice without knowing if a season will be played?

“I have been able to stay motivated by both my teammates and I continuing to have high expectations of one another. Whether we have a season or not, we hold each other accountable and push one another to be the best we can be.”

How is your team responding to just having practice this fall instead of both practice and games?

“My team is responding well to having just practice and no games. Obviously, it is a challenge to not have the same competitive aspect, but we are grateful to be able to practice the sport that we love after not being able to for so many months.”
