The men’s lacrosse team defeated Lycoming 15-5 on Saturday at Sassafras Field to remain undefeated in Landmark Conference play.

Three different River Hawks (10-2 overall, 4-0 Landmark) scored two goals. Steven Musser led the way with two goals and two assists; both Nick Remund and Brennan Lorence contributed two goals and an assist each while Pat McDermott added two scores.

The River Hawks jumped out to an early lead over the Warriors (2-6, 0-4), scoring three unanswered goals in the first quarter. This led to a 5-1 lead at halftime after Remund scored an unassisted goal in the final minute of the half.

Two different three-goal runs in the second half allowed SU to pull away from the visitors, leading to the double-digit win. Jack Gaillard assisted on three goals in the second half to bring his total to five for the game.

Senior goalie Jozef Korpics had an outstanding outing for the River Hawks, recording 18 saves and allowing just four goals while playing nearly the whole game in net.

The victory gives the River Hawks a double-digit figure in the win column, matching their total from last season with five games still left to play before the playoffs. SU is one of three Landmark teams that is still undefeated in conference play.

The team will return to action on Wednesday when they host Juniata. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
