Although almost all of the events that were supposed to happen this fall have either been cancelled or moved to a virtual platform, the Student Activities Committee (SAC) still held their annual autumn event, Fallchella.

Fallchella has been SAC’s biggest event for many years running, but the socially distanced and masked environment, along with some rain, made for a harder feat this past Saturday.

Thankfully, Fallchella was held outside, which meant that many students could attend at different points over the five-hour event without having to worry about a population limit.

The usual Fallchella backdrop was on display for pictures, a caricature artist was available for drawing people, an inflatable mini-golf course was blown up, yard games were plentiful, snacks were in abundance, two bands (The Way Outs and 95 Live) and Wiz Khalifa’s DJ performed and the usual baskets were raffled off to students.

This all made a familiar fall Saturday on campus, but with the rain delay and fear amongst students surrounding the new positive cases, only so many people came at a time.

For those that did come, they enjoyed the games, music and other aspects of  Fallchella.

I have to commend SAC for being able to provide their usual Fallchella experience in a safely sanitized and distanced manner.

The biggest wave of people came to enjoy the DJ at the end once they returned for the raffle announcements.

Overall, it was as successful as it could be during COVID-19 and a stormy day. I only hope that we can return to some normalcy for an even better Fallchella next year.
