Selinsgrove, PA — Susquehanna University’s Departments of Theatre and Music proudly present The Secret Garden, the ethereal Tony Award-winning musical written by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon, based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel that tells the story of how the power of nature, friendship, and music can heal all wounds.

Directed by Dr. Anna Andes, this compelling production will be staged at the Degenstein Center Theater on the Susquehanna University campus. Performances are scheduled for March 19th, 20th, and 21st at 7:00 p.m., with a matinee on March 22 at 2:00 p.m.

The Secret Garden is a musical about a young girl named Mary Lennox who is sent to live with her uncle in a large, lonely mansion in England after her parents die. At first, Mary is spoiled, angry, and unhappy, but while exploring the estate she discovers a hidden, locked garden that has been neglected for years. As she works to bring the garden back to life, she also helps heal the people around her, including her sick cousin Colin and her grieving uncle Archibald. Through friendship, nature, and hope, the garden becomes a symbol of renewal and emotional healing for everyone connected to it.

Tickets are free for Susquehanna University students and faculty, $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors and non-SU students.
