“And Now, Back to You:” A Book Review

One thing to know about me is that I would call myself a weather geek. Anytime it’s going to storm crazy or some wild weather event is going on, just know that I will be glued to the window watching what I would call my version of those baby sensory videos. My lifelong dream was, and still is, to be a meteorologist and chase weather around but since I’m abhorrent at math, I’ll stick to reading about meteorologists.

While I don’t often venture into the romance genre, this one caught my eye almost immediately. As I’ve mentioned, I love anything that has to do with the weather so seeing a romcom about two meteorologists? I’m sold. “And Now, Back to You” is technically the second book in the ongoing Heartstrings series by B. K. Borison, but they are all interconnected standalones with small appearances from other characters in this universe. I haven’t technically read the first one yet, but if it’s anything like this one then I know I’ll love it.

Set in Baltimore, we follow Jackson and Delilah, two competing meteorologists that are constantly butting heads with each other. While Jackson prefers to stick to his radio show, Delilah shines onscreen at a rival news station. When the two find out they are going to be working together, Delilah offersJackson a deal; help her absolutely ace this assignment and she will help him discover his fun side.

When they are paired together to cover what is most likely to become the snowstorm of a lifetime, together up in the mountains they start to form a surprising friendship. But with this newfound friendship, a sharper tension lingers beneath the surface.

I thought this was an adorable book and the perfect one to kick off my reading for the year. The relationship between Jackson and Delilah didn’t feel rushed at all and took the easy progression from being each other’s nemesis, to friends, to finally getting together. Every character also felt so incredibly real and not at all one-dimensional, and I will admit that it tugged on my heartstrings a little bit. The series’ name couldn’t be more on the nose.

If this sounds like a good time to you, “Longtime Listender” hits shelves on Feb. 23, 2027.
