In celebration of National College Colors Day, the Susquehanna University community proudly gathered on Friday, Aug. 29, to celebrate Orange and Maroon Day.  The day brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends of the university to show off their school spirit by dressing in orange and maroon. The event was not only a display of school colors but also unity.

Participants were encouraged to share their Susquehanna-themed photos across social media platforms using #OandMDay and tagging @SusquehannaU. The result was a massive display of River Hawk pride as photos were shared with Susquehanna gear worn proudly to classrooms, offices, homes and travel destinations across the SU community. Many campus clubs and organizations gathered to show off their school spirit together and snapped photos for social media posts.

“I think it shows our school spirit,” said Professor Dawn Benfer, “and I think it shows that we are all one big community, one big family at SU, all of us getting together and supporting our school colors.”

The Student Alumni Ambassadors team joined in on the fun of Orange and Maroon Day by setting up a photobooth on Kurtz Lane. Students stopped by to strike a pose in Susquehanna gear to celebrate their connection to the University, with the images shared on social media to amplify the reach of Orange and Maroon Day. On top of the photobooth, photographers roamed around campus to capture displays of River Hawk pride.

Orange and Maroon Day served as a powerful reminder of the bond shared by the Susquehanna Community. As the day grows each year since its start in 2014, it stands as a showcase of the importance of people coming together and River Hawk pride.
