Clubs and organizations and jobs, oh my! Susquehanna University’s activities fair took place on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. along Kurtz Lane.
With over 120 clubs and organizations on campus to choose from, students of all academic years strolled amongst the jam-packed tables in efforts to find their niche.
“I thought it was very cool to be able to see all the clubs and opportunities of how I could get involved on campus, and see the campus unite as one,” said student Carly Piacentino.
Each student had the opportunity to receive free Rita’s Italian Ice if they visited and received stamps on their “passport” cards from five different kinds of tables. This allowed students to get out of their comfort zones and find clubs that they may not have come across otherwise.
“My favorite part about the activities fair was seeing how many opportunities first-year students have to engage with our community,” said Angelina Danubio, a member of Susquehanna Greek Life who tabled at the fair.
Some clubs offered snacks, while others, like the Luxury Brand Marketing Club, gave out chic bookmarks. Each table had a unique marketing strategy to attract potential new members.
Students could even receive career advice at the Career Development Center’s table or sign up for information about becoming a Resident Assistant on campus at the table for Residence Life!
The possibilities were endless on Kurtz Lane, and they continue to grow as more clubs come to life each year! Students interested in starting a club that does not yet exist at Susquehanna can contact the Office of Leadership and Engagement for more information.
