Susquehanna University Men’s tennis ended their fall season with a 9-0 win over the visiting Misericordia University Cougars on Saturday.
The River Hawks snapped their two-game losing streak to finish with a 3-2 record.
Susquehanna has won five straight matches against Misericordia and is 8-3 against the Cougars overall.
The River Hawks began their sweep of the Cougars with an uncontested win at No. 3 doubles for Thomas Hallahan and Gavin Ream.
In No. 1 doubles, Tim Basta and Conor Ryan won 8-3, while Sam Sidle and Brendan Stockdale won 8-2 in No. 2 doubles to put Susquehanna up 3-0.
Singles play began with an uncontested win for Stockdale at No. 6 to extend Susquehanna’s lead to 4-0.
Ream finished first at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 to give Susquehanna a 5-0 lead and clinch the win.
Joshua Sanderson took No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1, his third singles win of the season, to put the River Hawks ahead 6-0.
In No. 2 singles, John Duncan won 6-3, 6-1 to stay undefeated in singles play in the fall and extend Susquehanna’s lead to 7-0.
Conor Ryan won in No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-1 for his second singles win of the season and to give the River Hawks an 8-0 lead.
Justin Mahoney completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in No. 5 singles.
The River Hawks will look to continue their season in the spring after going 3-2 in the fall.
