Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham:
Arsenal won the North London Derby in Saturday’s early kickoff as Spurs imploded after Emerson Royal was sent off with his side already down 2-1. Thomas Partey opened the scoring before Harry Kane equalized from the penalty spot. Gabriel Jesus made it 2-1 just minutes into the second half, then Emerson was shown the red card, and Granit Xhaka rounded off the scoring after 67 minutes. Arsenal is at the top of the league while the Spurs remain third.
Southampton 1-2 Everton:
This game’s goals came within five minutes early in the second half. Joe Aribo was the first to get on the score sheet for the Saints. Everton came bursting back from a goal down. However, they scored twice soon after, getting goals from Conor Coady and Dwight McNeil to pick up a second win of the season.
Fulham 1-4 Newcastle:
Newcastle ran riot at Craven Cottage after Nathaniel Chalobah was sent off after seven minutes. Callum Wilson opened the scoring moments later before Miguel Almiron doubled the lead at 33 minutes. Just before the break, Sean Longstaff grabbed a third, and Almiron bagged a brace in the second half to put the visitors four to the goal. Harrison Reed pulled back a consolation goal for the Cottagers to stay in the eighth position.
Palace 1-2 Chelsea:
A former friend and familiar foe undid Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Former Brighton manager Graham Potter collected his first win as Chelsea’s boss, getting a late winner from Conor Gallagher. Odsonne Edouard gave the hosts an early lead before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his first Chelsea goal just before halftime. It took until the dying moments for Chelsea to claim the three points.
Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford:
The main story at the Vitality Stadium was a penalty shout for Jordan Zemura. The shot went unanswered by the officials. The Cherries had the opportunity to leapfrog Liverpool in the table- the same side that had previously beaten them 9-0- but the goalless draw keeps them far down the league table.
Liverpool 3-3 Brighton:
Leandro Trossard was the first opposing player to score a hat-trick at Anfield in the Premier League when he put three past Alisson. Jordan Henderson’s mistake allowed Trossard to open the scoring before another defensive calamity let the Belgian double the south coast side’s advantage. Roberto Firmino pulled one back before half-time, squaring the game at 54 minutes. Adam Webster’s own goal gave Liverpool a 3-2 lead, but Trossard netted late to steal a draw from England’s biggest club.
West Ham 2-0 Wolves:
Wolves’ 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Bruno Lage, with the Wolves board opting to terminate his contract after goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen condemned his side to defeat in East London.
Man City 6-3 Man Utd:
It was a blue romp in the Manchester Derby on Sunday, with a pair of hat-tricks scored by Erling Haaland and Phil Foden for the champions as they thrashed their rivals with ease. They took a 4-0 lead into half-time, with Foden scoring the opener before a quick double from Haaland had them three up. Foden scored a minute from the break again, but Antony pulled one back ten minutes into the second half. Haaland secured a third Premier League hat-trick in 8 games, matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally from 232 games. Leeds 0-0 Villa:
Aston Villa failed to make their chances count at Elland Road, unable to take advantage of their extra man when Luis Sinisterra was shown the red card after 48 minutes. Despite having most of the chances, the visitors could not beat Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal and were forced to settle for a point.
