Robert Lelli Comes in Clutch for Susquehanna versus Bucknell

Sophomore Robert Lelli led Susquehanna over Bucknell on Saturday with a kick for points to make it 15-12 with less than ten minutes to go.  

With the win, Susquehanna Men’s Rugby stays undefeated on the season as they move to 3-0 and Bucknell falls to 2-1 with the loss.  

The Riverhawks set the tone as Senior Jacob Tomasulo got them on the board early with a try to make it 5-0 Susquehanna.  

Lelli made the conversion kick to make it 7-0 Susquehanna.  

Senior Mason Barndt extended the Riverhawks’ lead with another try to make it 12-0 Susquehanna.  

Lelli missed the conversion kick, and the score remained 12-0 Susquehanna heading into halftime.  

Bucknell scored a try to start the second half and made it 12-5 Susquehanna.  

Bucknell made the conversion kick to make it 12-7 Susquehanna.  

About ten minutes after their previous try, Bucknell scored another try to knot the game up at 12-12.  

Bucknell missed the conversion kick, and the score remained deadlocked at 12-12.  

The game would remain tied until the seventy-fifth minute as Lelli would drill a drop goal to give Susquehanna the lead of 15-12. 

The Riverhawks’ defense held firm as they kept Bucknell from scoring the remainder of the game for the win.
