The Susquehanna women’s volleyball team went undefeated this past weekend, defeat- ing non-conference opponent McDaniel College 3-0 at home and conference opponents Elizabethtown and Goucher in Elizabethtown, Pa.

The first game of the week- end for the River Hawks was against McDaniel with a final score of 3-0. Susquehanna dominated the game with freshman outside hitter Rosina Esposito leading the team with 12 kills and two aces.

Susquehanna junior right-side Sydney Portale contributed seven kills and one block, while junior libero Lizzie Herestofa led the defense with 19 digs.

Susquehanna had an attack percentage of 0.274 with only 11 errors, while McDaniel was faced with 18 errors and a 0.124 attack percentage.

McDaniel’s leaders were Marlowe Embry and Emma Lorenzen with eight kills and Kendall Hanak with 16 digs.

“Don’t get me wrong, McDaniel is not a push over team. They’ve got some good talent, good quality and a great coach,” Susquehanna head coach Kuui- po Tom said. “I look forward to seeing the development from that program over the next few years. I think they’re going to be tough to contend with in just a couple years.”

The River Hawks won during their tri-match against Elizabethtown 3-0 and defeat- ed Goucher 3-0.

The first game was against Goucher and Susquehanna dominated the Gophers 25-12, putting up 13 kills and a .522 attack percentage.

Esposito lead the match in kills with 16, while Portale was also in double digits with 13. Herestofa also lead the match in digs with a total of 10.

Goucher’s leaders were Bianca Brown with seven kills and Cat Hartley with eight digs.

During the match against Elizabethtown, Esposito again led the team in kills with 15 while Portale had nine, and Herestofa collected a team-best 18 digs and four service aces.

The River Hawks took the first set 25-16, recording 13 kills to the Blue Jays’ seven. Susquehanna continued to dominate set two, winning 25- 12 and scoring on 11 kills to Elizabethtown’s three.

Susquehanna will next travel to Fredonia, N.Y. where the team will take on Fredonia at 11 a.m. and Rochester at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 12.
