Greek Organizations Phi Mu Delta and Alpha Delta Pi won the annual Airband competition on Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. in Weber Auditorium.

Twelve Greek organizations on campus participated in Airband, a dance competition where Greek organizations choreograph and perform a dance based on the Greek Week theme.

This year’s Greek Week theme was heroes and villains, with the winning fraternity, Phi Mu Delta being The Boys from the TV series The Boys and the winning sorority, Alpha Delta Pi being Harley Quinn.

Tickets were sold to students and the general public for $3 with all the proceeds going to the winning team’s philanthropies. This year a total of $1,312 was raised and was split evenly between Alpha Delta Pi’s philanthropy, The Ronald McDonald House and Phi Mu Delta’s philanthropy, The Phi Mu Delta Educational Foundation.

Airband was the last event of Greek Week, which started on Monday April 24. Greek Week is an annual tradition where the Greek organizations come together and compete in games and gain points for their organization. This year some of the activities included a campus wide game of Capture the Flag, a water balloon relay race, a case study presentation and a volleyball tournament as well as a banner competition.

“Greek Week is a special time of the semester for Greek Life,” said Kris Kerschner, one of the two Greek Week Chairs who planned and oversaw all of Greek Week, “it’s the one time where all of the Greek Organizations can come together and support one another through some friendly competition.”

This year’s overall Greek Week winners, were Sigma Kappa for the sorority winner and Phi Mu Delta for the fraternity winner. Sigma Kappa also won the Greek Week Spirit Award for helping Sigma Gamma Rho by lending them a few players when they did not have enough people during some of the competitions.
