The Susquehanna University Department of Theatre is proud to present this year’s musical production, Urinetown: The Musical, with music by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, directed by Aaron White as part of our 2021-22 Main Stage Season.

Performances will be on Thursday, November 11th through Saturday, November 13th at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee performance on November 14th at 2:30 p.m.

Urinetown: The Musical is an irreverent and unflinching speculation on how a fictional capitalist society might respond to a cataclysmic water shortage. Written as a cheeky satire of our country’s foibles in the late 1990’s, the show has aged—like mellow brown kidney juice—to reveal a hauntingly accurate description of America’s current precarious predicament in relationship to climate change, class, and corporate opportunism. … It is also HILARIOUS!!

The production will be in person and available to the public, our theater will be at 50% capacity and masks will be required. Tickets are free for Susquehanna students, $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and non-SU students.

All tickets for Department of Theatre productions can be purchased through the Box Office located in the Degenstein Campus Center Theater lobby. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets can be purchased in person or by calling 570-372-ARTS. The box office will also be open for one hour before every performance.
