The 27th annual Honors Band Festival gala concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Feb. 17 in Weber Chapel Auditorium.

Director of Bands Eric Hinton will conduct, and the gala will include the University Symphonic Band, the

Honors Band, the Honors Wind Ensemble and the Festival Band.

Susquehanna alumnus Colin McGrory will also guest conduct with the Honors Band.

Although the repertoire does not have one theme, Hinton said he wants to expose both the band members and the

audience to a broad range of music.

“The Honors Band Festival tries to give students an excellent musical experience while exposing them to the fine

faculty and students that make up our music department,” Hinton said.

This program includes pieces done by the University Symphonic Band on tour over winter break, including “Slava! A

Concert Overture” by Leonard Bernstein, “Catch Me if you Can” by John Williams, “Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy

Aldridge Grainger and “‘Country Band’ March” by Charles Ives.
