The men’s soccer team dropped their third straight contest Saturday at Sassafras Field, losing 3-0 for the second straight game while falling to Scranton in Landmark Conference action.

Scranton (8-4-4 overall, 5-2-1 Landmark) was held scoreless in the first half; Dean Finan drew first blood with a goal in the 64th minute. Ciaran Corr scored in both the 80th and 86th minute to secure the win for the Royals.

Susquehanna (7-7-3, 2-6) goalkeeper Tony Burns gave an admirable effort in the loss, making five saves and keeping the Royals off the scoreboard in the first half. The Royals finished with 21 shots compared to SU’s 7. The River Hawks failed to register a single shot on goal.

The game doubled as the team’s annual “Red Card Cancer” game.

Saturday was the River Hawk’s final home game of the season. The team will travel to New Jersey to take on Drew in the season finale. A win would give SU its first winning season since 2021, when the team reached the Landmark Conference tournament.
