Tennis Sweeps E-town in Landmark Openers

Both the men & women’s tennis teams opened Landmark Conference play on Sep. 22, playing host to Elizabethtown.

The women dominated, winning by a score of 6-1. The River Hawks won two out of three doubles matches over the Blue Jays; they also won five out of six individual matches. Mackenzie Romig, Macey DiBastiani, Katherine Yoder, Amelia Maguire and Kaiya Reisinger tallied individual wins for the hosts.

On the men’s side, the River Hawks won a tight battle by a 4-3 decision. Individual wins by Tyler Hester, Gavin Ream, Nathan Bassett and Austin Imhoof, along with a doubles win, secured the win for SU.

Both teams will be back in action when they host Misericordia 1 p.m. Saturday at Garrett Tennis Courts.
