Author discusses traveling and trekking Keystone XL pipeline

Posted on November 9, 2018 by The Quill

TRESPASSING ACROSS AMERICA — Author, journalist and environmentalist Ken Ilgunas came to Susquehanna on Nov. 5. Ilgunas told students about his trek across America following the Keystone XL pipeline for the purpose of understanding it’s affect on climate change. During the hike, Ilgunas slept in a tarp tent and relied on natural sources of water for sustinance. When natural water sources were not available, Ilgunas knocked on doors. He also took the opportunity to hear the opinions of people living along the pipeline. Ilgunas learned that many people were indifferent about the pipeline and in fact thought that climate change was a conspiracy or hoax.
