Fraternity rush at Susquehanna University kicked off this past week with a surge of student excitement and spirited events across campus. As Greek organizations welcomed potential new members, each chapter offered a glimpse into its values, culture, and brotherhood. Throughout the week, all four fraternities hosted a variety of events designed to help students learn about their organizations and explore what Greek life has to offer. Those who participated include Theta Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE), Pi Kappa Phi (PKP) and Phi Mu Delta (PMD), all of which brought their own energy to rush activities.
Many students described the rush experience as a lively opportunity to meet new people and get involved on campus. From casual meet and greet socials to structured informational sessions, fraternities worked to create welcoming environments for those considering membership. The array of themes, games, and conversations helped students navigate what can otherwise be an overwhelming process.
“We’ve had a great turnout,” said one fraternity member from Theta Chi. “Rush gives us a chance to share what our chapter is all about: why we’re here, what we stand for, and how we support each other.”
For many students, the social aspect was a major draw. Freshmen and sophomores enjoyed the chance to connect with upperclassmen, ask questions about campus life, and get an authentic sense of day-to-day fraternity culture.
“It’s been really fun,” said a freshman student who attended several rush events. “I’ve met so many people I wouldn’t have talked to otherwise. It’s cool to see how each fraternity does things differently.”
Fraternity leaders emphasized that rush is not just about social events; it’s also an opportunity to highlight each chapter’s commitment to values like leadership, service, and academic support. Many houses shared information about their involvement in community service projects, philanthropic efforts, and campus organizations outside of Greek life. These presentations helped students understand how each fraternity contributes to the broader Susquehanna community.
