Susquehanna University’s Department of Theatre proudly presents “Love/Sick,” a witty and poignant play by John Cariani, brought to life under the direction of senior theatre students. A contemporary exploration of love in all its awkward, hopeful and heartbreaking forms, “Love/Sick” offers audiences an evening of humor and emotional insight.
Set in a series of loosely connected vignettes, “Love/Sick” examines the universal experience of being in love, and falling into it, fighting for it, and sometimes stumbling through it. Cariani’s sharp dialogue and offbeat characters reveal how love can be both exhilarating and exasperating, often at once. The play balances comedy and vulnerability, inviting audiences to recognize themselves in the relationships unfolding onstage.
This student-directed production highlights the creativity and leadership of Susquehanna University’s senior theatre students, who have guided the show’s artistic vision from concept to performance. Their direction brings fresh perspective and energy to Cariani’s text while showcasing the collaborative spirit of the university’s theatre program. “Love/Sick” reflects Susquehanna University’s commitment to experiential learning, allowing students to take on meaningful artistic responsibility while producing high-quality, engaging theatre for the community.
