The Ensemble du Bout du Monde, a saxophone quartet of classically trained, award-winning saxophonists from Israel, Italy, and the United States, presented their program Liminality.
Ensemble members Noa Mick, Simonia Castria, Salvatore Castellano and Susquehanna alumnus Don-Paul Kahl (’11) presented Liminality, a program that explores the tension of existing between worlds — between past and future, tradition and innovation.
As a contemporary ensemble, they continually seek to place art in unexpected and truly unique contexts, aiming to redefine the possibilities of the ensemble and create a paradigm shift in contemporary music. EBM actively engages in cross-disciplinary collaborations that bridge the arts and humanities. Formed, developed and trained in France, the ensemble unites four distinct cultural backgrounds into a collective that embraces innovation with no boundaries or limitations.
Since beginning their artistic journey in 2015, EBM has performed at renowned festivals and concert halls across the globe. EBM has received numerous accolades in the field of contemporary chamber music at the Concours d’Interprétation de la Ville de Boulogne-Billancourt (France), the Hugo Competition organized by the Montforthaus of Feldkirch (Austria), and the 21st Illzach Chamber Music Competition (France).
The Ensemble du Bout du Monde presented their recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Cunningham Center for Music & Art’s Stretansky Concert Hall, which was free and open to the public.
After the show, they signed pre-releases of their new albums, which students could buy before their official releases.
