Finding the Cheesecake of Your Dreams
By Elizabeth Smith
The cheesecake craze can’t be contained and so The Sweet Dreams Cheesecake Emporium has found a home in Selinsgrove.
Owned and operated by Jesse Whitmer, the emporium relocated from Sunbury to 209 W Pine Street, Selinsgrove in 2024 to accommodate its growing customer base and to expand operations.
Jesse Whitmer is a self-taught baker and started making cheesecakes for friends and family a couple of years ago, driven by his love for the dessert.
Whitmer originally started selling at the Sunbury Market House and then opened his own storefront in Sunbury. The increasing demand led Whitmer to need a larger space, and he ended up moving to Selinsgrove.
The Sweet Dreams Cheesecake Emporium offers an array of flavors and around 60 varieties of mini cheesecakes. Some flavors include strawberry shortcake, fudge brownie sundae and chocolate chip.
Although Whitmer is known for his mini cheesecakes, the emporium also offers cheesecake slices, nine-inch cheesecakes, slushies and cheesecake filled egg rolls.
Community involvement is important to Whitmer, and he has collaborated with different local businesses to establish strong community ties. The emporium also participates in local events and festivals, enhancing its presence in the community.
Customers can find regular updates on flavors, operating hours and special events on their Facebook page.
Operating hours are Tuesday and Thursday 3pm to 8pm, and Saturday 9am to 3pm, so stop by The Sweet Dreams Cheesecake Emporium for one of the best sweet treats in Selinsgrove.
