Whether you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe or find unique dorm decorations on a budget, Susquehanna is surrounded by several thrift stores worth exploring.

Just a short walk from campus you can find a few. The first is the Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed offers a variety of secondhand items that includes clothing, books and home goods. A great spot for discovering unique treasures. The shop is located at 20 S. Market Street, Selinsgrove.

Firehouse Marketplace is another shop close to campus. Located in the historic former Dauntless Hook and Ladder (DHL) Firehouse, this unique store offers a selection of antiques, used furniture and collectibles.  Located at 1 S. Water Street, Selinsgrove, this store provides a welcoming atmosphere where each item tells its own story.

If you don’t mind a short drive, there are several other must-see thrift stores to check out.

Community Aid, at 1070 N. Susquehanna Trail in Selinsgrove, is a favorite among students. It is a spacious store offering a wide selection of used clothing, accessories and household items organized by color. It stands as the largest thrift store in Pennsylvania.

Next, The Goodwill Store in Lewisburg is a great spot to find affordable clothing, dorm essentials and unique thrifted treasures. Shopping here supports job training and employment programs for the local community, so you can feel good about your finds. Located at 175 International Drive in Lewisburg, this 30-minute drive is worth it.

If you’re willing to take the drive, you won’t be disappointed with American Rescue Workers Thrift Store. This store provides clothing with proceeds supporting local programs. A bit of a drive, but worth the visits for budget friendly finds. Located at 122 Maple Ave., Milton.

Finally, Labor of Love Thrift Store is a community focus store offering a range of secondhand items. Shoppers love the friendly vibe and the store’s dedication to supporting local outreach programs. Located at 1 E. Market Street, Middleburg.

No matter if you’re looking for a new outfit, decorating your dorm or just on the hunt for hidden gems, the Selinsgrove area offers plenty of spots to explore.

From curated boutiques to community thrift shops, each store has its own charm and purpose. Plus, shopping second hand is good for your wallet and the planet. So, grab a friend and plan a thrift day to see what treasures you can find.
