The men’s lacrosse team won its third straight contest on Saturday, defeating Wilkes 24-10 at Sassafras Field in Landmark Conference play. The game also featured senior day festivities for the River Hawks.
SU scored 18 first-half goals after honoring its 15 seniors prior to the start of the contest. The overall 24-goal tally is the highest of the season for the River Hawks (11-4 overall, 4-3 Landmark).
Chris Ciccarello and Jack Gaillard each recorded eight points; Ciccarello netted five goals and contributed three assists while Gaillard notched four goals and assists each.
Susquehanna outshot the Colonels (4-11, 1-6) 75-25, in large part due to its domination of the midfield, winning 20 out of 29 faceoffs. Alexander Messina won 15 out of his 20 battles for the River Hawks.
Gaillard’s performance makes him the first River Hawk to ever score more than 90 points in a single season and more than 250 in a single career.
The River Hawks will head to Towson, Maryland, to take on Goucher on Wednesday.
