Susquehanna University’s Greek Life Takes Center Stage

Posted on April 5, 2025 by The Quill

The stage is set, and the energy is at an all-time high—Susquehanna University’s annual Airband competition is ready to rock! As the grand finale of Greek Week, Airband brings together SU’s Greek organizations for the ultimate lip-sync and dance battle, where they showcase choreographed routines, costumes and creative themes—all while competing to support local non-profit organizations and philanthropies.

Greek Week, running from March 31 to April 6, is a highly anticipated tradition filled with games, challenges and activities that allow fraternities and sororities to rack up points. But it all comes down to Airband, the week’s most well-known event, where one fraternity and one sorority will be crowned champions—winning funds for their respective philanthropies.

The battle takes place on April 6 at 2:00 PM in Weber Chapel, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. Admission is $5 (cash only), with all proceeds benefiting the winners’ philanthropy. This year’s theme, “Airband: World Tour,” will take audiences on a global musical journey featuring performances inspired by Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Queen, Bruno Mars, Pitbull, One Direction, ABBA, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. Get ready for an unforgettable night of music, energy and fierce competition—all for a good cause!

Before Airband takes center stage, Greek organizations showcase their spirit and creativity with the annual Banner Competition—a Greek Week tradition where each chapter designs a custom banner reflecting their Airband theme. These works are proudly displayed for the entire campus, helping build excitement while also earning each team valuable Greek Week points.

This year’s Banner Competition winners are Phi Mu Delta, featuring ABBA, and Zeta Tau Alpha, featuring Lady Gaga.

Grace Reusing, a Zeta Tau Alpha member and banner contributor, expressed her excitement about the win: “It was amazing to see of the orgs’ creativity and style in their banners, and we [Zeta Tau Alpha] were so grateful to win! Greek week is an awesome opportunity that allows all of Greek life to come together and show their spirit!”

With competition heating up and Greek pride on full display, Airband 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable event. Don’t miss out—come witness the talent, the passion, and the epic battle for the Airband crown!
