National Library Week is Coming to Susquehanna
By Elizabeth Smith
Starting Monday, April 7, the Blough-Weis Library will be hosting daily events to celebrate National Library Week.
National Library week is a time to celebrate the role libraries play in our community and recognize that libraries are more than just buildings filled with books, they serve as places for learning, creativity, connection and they provide access to a multitude of resources.
During the second week of April, there will be a variety of events designed to engage students and faculty to celebrate.
The week starts out with library tabling in Mellon Lounge from 11am until 1pm. This is a time where you can learn more about available resources and services the library offers.
On Tuesday, April 8 at 4:15pm there will be faculty short talks in library room 104 featuring Joseph Giomboni, Nabeel Siddiqui, and Pavithra Vivekanand. These sessions offer a great opportunity to engage with faculty members and explore new ideas.
On Wednesday, April 9 from noon to 1pm students can enjoy a sweet treat at the library with root beer floats.
Followed by the Dalton Scholars Lunch on Thursday, April 10 from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the Shearer Dining Rooms.
For those looking for some interactive fun, the library will host an egg hunt on Friday, April 11 to encouraging students to explore the library while searching for hidden surprises.
To close out the week, there will be a spring market on Saturday, April 12 from 11am to 2pm. The market will showcase student vendors and give attendees a chance to support small student run businesses.
Whether you want a sweet treat, attend a talk or browse the spring market, National Library Week offers something for everyone and is a great opportunity to support the Blough-Weis Library.
