Susquehanna University Financial Services announced a 3.9% increase in tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year via an email sent to all underclassmen on March 27.
The biggest change is the creation of a new comprehensive student fee, which consolidates the former activity fee and health fee into one single fee. This fee will also be used to fund technology and operational costs.
Another thing to note according to Vice President for Finance Jeffery Listwak is that this increase is much lower than last year’s, which was above the 4% mark. He said administration made it a priority to make sure that students were not being burdened with financing the university. Since last year’s inflation rate was 9%, financial services considers it a major accomplishment to keep tuition increase below 4%.
Listwak says that financial services makes it a point to always compare SU’s tuition to comparable universities, so they can assure students this increase is on par with the current market.
“Get your FASFA in,” said Listwak. “Get over to financial services ASAP. We want to help you stay in school.”
