Selinsgrove – The Susquehanna University Department of Theatre is proud to present this year’s second theatrical production, Escaped Alone & Far Away, both written by Caryl Churchill, and directed by Dr. Anna Andes, as part of its 2021-22 Main Stage Season.

Performances will be on Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee performance on October 24th at 2:30 p.m.

Caryl Churchill’s one act plays, Escaped Alone & Far Away, depict worlds gone terribly wrong as humans grapple with their existence in dystopian chaos. In both plays the world, as we know it, lacks order. Relationships between human beings are strained. Animals, humans, social and political structures, and the very forces of nature struggle to co-exist on a planet increasingly overcome by climate change. Churchill’s plays ask difficult questions and invite us to consider both our present moment and our future hopes and dreams for ourselves and our world.

The production will be in person and available to the public, our theater will be at 50% capacity and masks will be required. Tickets are free for Susquehanna students, $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and non-SU students. Additionally, there will be a talkback after the performance on Saturday, October 23 with Chaplain Rev. Scott Kershner and the director Anna Andes following the production.

All tickets for Department of Theatre productions can be purchased through the Box Office located in the Degenstein Campus Center Theater lobby. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets can be purchased in person or by calling 570-372-ARTS. The box office will also be open for one hour before every performance.
