Senior Kate Ross is a business administration major and a psychology minor on the Susquehanna women’s track and field and soccer teams, from Hellertown, Pa.

What made you start doing track and field?

“I started track because I have always loved running and it’s always come easy to me.”

Who is your favorite professional track star?

“I don’t think she is professional quite yet, but I enjoy watching Jessica Hull run, she went to University of  Oregon and we compete in similar events.”

What drew you to the track and field team here at Susquehanna?

“I knew I wanted to play soccer somewhere and it was just a lucky coincidence that Susquehanna also had a track program.”

What’s been some of your favorite memories here with the team?

“Traveling to away meets and taking down records with my relay teams.”

What has being a student-athlete for the past four years taught you?

“That doing what you love should always be one of your top priorities. We are here to be students, but life is about more than just the classroom.”

Who or what is your biggest inspiration when it comes to track and field?

“I don’t think I have a specific track inspiration; I just enjoy breaking my own personal records and seeing how fast I can go.”

What is your advice to the track and field first-years?

“My advice would be to step onto the track with confidence and attack every race. This sport especially is a huge mental battle and if you can have at least that, then you are golden.”

If you could relive any meet, which one would it be and why?

“I would relive my indoor regional meet of 2020. My relay team and I broke our DMR record and I had a personal record in the 800m run, overall a great time.”

What are you going to miss the most?

“I’m going to miss practicing with my teammates and competing for Susquehanna.”
