Ramirez is the author of two collections of poetry, Coconut Curls y Café con Leche and Despojo. Her debut collection, Coconut Curls y Café con Leche, is described by The Rumpus as having “such a distinctive voice, such a driving purpose. Coconut Curls y Café con Leche powerfully explores family, culture, and the construct of beauty, mingling Spanish and English in an intertwined format.”
Her work has been published in Queen Mob’s Teahouse, The Acentos Review, A Gypsy’s Library, and Here Comes Everyone among other publications. Ramirez currently teaches writing workshops, performs and hosts events in the greater Washington, D.C., area.
