In light of the current pandemic, Sigma Gamma Rho Inc. has put together an all-inclusive virtual fashion show to lift spirits with style.
Susquehanna’s Sigma Gamma Rho chapter has compiled multiple videos of each soror flaunting their own unique styles to inspire self-confidence and to have a fun public activity while practicing social distancing.
The online social event’s motto, “Don’t Let Quarantine Curb Your Style”, is to promote self-care, self-love and self-interest during self-isolation.
Sigma Gamma Rho’s Parliamentarian and Philanthropy Chair Isabella Moles said the goal of the fashion show is to make sure people have something entertaining to do even in the environment of their own home.
“With us all being in quarantine, we don’t really have the chance to show off the outfits we had planned for events later on in the semester or to socialize and show ourselves off,” Moles said. “It’s just an opportunity for people to be confident and to show off; to get dolled up, dressed up and basically to strut their stuff.”
According to Moles, the event is only taking place due to the current global self-isolation orders but, depending on the event’s success, might be held again in the future. The event isn’t a competition, and there is no specified beginning or end date to join in with Sigma Gamma Rho.
The fashion show is open to anyone interested in joining. According to Moles, all it takes is your phone and your style.
“Don’t be afraid to take that first step,” Moles said, “see it as an opportunity to be more you!”
