A new rotating food concept and made-to-order yogurt and smoothie options are now available as part of a change in options provided by Susquehanna Dining Services.
A big influence on these dining services updates has been student feedback, according to Susquehanna Dining General Manager Kevin Hamilton. The changes made from this feedback have been as drastic as completely changing food stations, but also as small as adding topping choices.
“Due to the overwhelming feedback we managed to squeeze pickles back on the Nosh station and eliminated the up-charge for Spinach,” Hamilton said.
The changes in dining services include new rotating food stations, increased plant-based offerings and other menu additions.
The former Bistro 58 location, which served Tex-Mex centered menu, will take on several different looks as a “Restaurant Rotation” food station throughout the semester. While Mi Comdia currently features Latin inspired flavors, Hamilton says the station will also feature “a fun twist on roadside favorites and a signature Ramen bar.”
The Firebox and Nosh stations will also feature rotating menu items, with fresh limited time offerings that will be available for two weeks at a time.
Another noticeable change is the increase in vegan and vegetarian friendly options across campus at both the Evert Dining Room and other locations. The Dining Room will have an increase in plant-based options as part of SU Dining Services’ “plant forward” initiative. Around campus, a vegan wrap has been added to the Nosh menu and Ele’s will see a new vegetarian wrap offered.
Blough-Weis Library’s Scholarly Grounds also has a large expansion in the menu. Made-to-Order yogurt bowls and create-your-own smoothies have joined the options available at Scholarly Grounds.
Going forward this semester, there will also be monthly themed meals at Evert Dining Room. February will be “Under the Sea” themed, with more themed meals on the way.
Susquehanna Dining Services is the exclusive dining services provider at Susquehanna University. They operate 10 different dining options at multiple locations on campus.
Degenstein Campus Center features the Evert Dining Room, The Hawk’s Nest, and Starbucks. Other locations on campus include Ele’s at The Natural Sciences Center, Scholarly Grounds at the Blough-Weis Library and Clyde’s Cafe at the James W. Garrett Sports Complex.
