Sophomore Erin Reese shaved almost 30 seconds off her personal best 6k time to lead the Susquehanna women’s cross country team to a 16th place finish at the Lock Haven Invitational Meet on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Reese clocked a 22:39.5 compared to her previous time of 23:07.6 which she set last year at Gettysburg.

“It felt great being able to finally break 23 minutes,” Reese said. “I have been working really hard this season.”

Reese finished the race in 20th place overall.

“You can always rely on [Reese],” head coach Ethan Senecal said. “you know she is going to come through no matter what the weather, no matter what the situation, she is going to show up and she is going to perform.”

Majority of the teams who participated in the Invitational came from Division I and Division II schools.

Sophomore Marissa Kleman was the next River Hawk to cross the finish line after Reese with a time of 24:10.3 in 70th place.

Junior Alexa Pietrini finished in 103rd place (25:13.1) and junior Emily Eck finished in 133rd place (26:00.4.)

Junior Joy Lyle rounded out the scoring for the River Hawks with a 212th place finish (31:43.3.)

All Susquehanna runners had their personal best times in the 6k race.

Senior Ciaran Fisher was just off his 8k personal best and lead the Susquehanna men’s cross country team to a 14th place finish at the Lock Haven Invitational.

Fisher recorded a 26:43.8 which was close to his 26:38.5 personal best which he set at the Lock Haven Invitational last year. Fisher finished the race in 34th place overall. Freshman Jack Warehime was the second River Hawk to finish and placed 77th overall with a time of 27:46.4.

Sophomore Jake Menchey finished in 128th place clocking a 28:53.9.

Freshman Max Oswald finished in 142nd place (29:14.3) followed by senior Kaleb Waiwada, freshman John Sabella and sophomore Robert Sattler. All runners other than Fisher set a personal best on the day.

Both the women and men’s cross country teams will host the Ashley Tomlinson Alumni race on homecoming weekend on Saturday, Oct. 6.
